Lesson 1
Network Automation with Arista and Ansible
Course 2 of 3 in Campus Track
Automate Arista EOS using Ansible playbooks efficiently
This course introduces network engineers to infrastructure automation using Ansible in combination with Arista EOS. As networks grow in scale and complexity, manual configuration becomes a bottleneck and a source of human error. This course teaches students how to eliminate that problem by using Ansible — one of the most widely adopted automation frameworks — to programmatically configure, validate, and manage Arista devices at scale. The course begins with an introduction to automation concepts, covering idempotency, declarative vs. imperative approaches, and why network automation has become a critical skill for modern network engineers. Students will then set up an Ansible control node, install the Arista-specific Ansible collections, and establish connectivity to EOS devices via eAPI and SSH.
